REFRESHING MOUNTAIN AIR

Members gather at Elk River Club from all over to escape the summer heat and enjoy the ideal temperature for an active lifestyle. At an elevation of 5000 feet, the mountains surrounding Elk River complete the perfect backdrop for members to perfect their golf game or enjoy the famous trout fishing along one-mile of the Elk River that meanders through the property. Residents of Elk River enjoy the surrounding views of the region’s prominent mountains, including Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and Grandfather Mountain. It is an easy drive to Banner Elk, Blowing Rock and Boone for year-round dining, shopping and exciting outdoor adventures. Appalachian State University and Lees McRae College offer a variety of cultural experiences that members enjoy.

THE FIRST JACK NICKLAUS SIGNATURE COURSE IN NC

Jack Nicklaus built his first North Carolina Signature Golf Course at Elk River Club. This NC community where the altitude ranges from 3,450 feet to 4,650 feet provides the perfect setting for golfers of all levels to both be challenged and to truly enjoy the course. In addition, the Bear’s Den golf learning center provides members the opportunity to hone their skills with personalized instruction and swing analysis technology.

THE FINEST EQUESTRIAN CENTER

Elk River members who bring their horses are able to delight in miles of groomed riding trails that adjoin the 30-stall Equestrian Center. Complete with a jump course and a hunt course, the Center provides members with a full range of practice facilities that caters to their particular riding style.

THE CONVENIENCE OF YOUR OWN PRIVATE AIRPORT

Elk River may feel like a secluded mountain retreat, but it is easily accessible by air or by car. Our well-maintained, on-site airport includes a 4,600 foot paved runway. Private hangars can easily accommodate personal or corporate aircraft for members who want the convenience of flying directly to the Club.

FINE AND CASUAL DINING AND MEMBER SOCIALS

Our 50,000 square foot Clubhouse includes an informal bar and grille, formal dining room, and several executive rooms that may be used for private parties or meetings. Club members and their guests enjoy the finest in casual gourmet dining.

Elk River Club has many exciting social events each year for members and their guests such as cookouts held beside the Elk River and at the beautiful Equestrian Center. The membership looks forward each spring to returning to the fine dining and the first class service by the Food & Beverage staff that makes each event unique.

STAY FIT AND ACTIVE

There is always something to do at Elk River. The professional tennis complex features four Har-Tru courts for members working on their game or just learning. All the amenities needed to work out and relax can be found at the pool and fitness complex located near the main Clubhouse. The clear, clean Elk River winds through the community and is stocked with trout and fitted with timed feeders, providing superb fishing for residents of all ages.
