You can’t spell summer cheer without ERC! Summertime at Elk River Club is made for outdoor recreation, High Country events, and mountain memories with friends and family. Our dedicated staff has been preparing for our members’ time here—we can’t wait to see how you create your best summer yet. Keep reading for a sampling of community activities and regional events as you plan for summer 2024 at Elk River Club.

North Carolina’s Finest Course
It wouldn’t be an Elk River Club summer without our members’ relishing their time on our Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, known for its dynamic design and Blue Ridge beauty. Consistently ranking in the state’s top ten golf courses, Jack Nicklaus described it in a 2005 letter as “enjoyable for members yet challenging enough for world-class tournament play.” A recent Golf Digest review reads: “Absolutely wonderful Nicklaus design with demanding shot values and beautiful aesthetics. An underrated hidden gem. Excellent facilities and fantastic service.” Josh Smith and his staff of 20 take immaculate care of the course for our members.

Poolside Perfection
Many Elk River Club members believe “Life Is Better in the Pool.” Our private pool complex features a lap pool and spa for the grown-ups along with a kid-friendly sloped beach with bubblers. We’re sure to see families gathering for a refreshing dip, en route to our Wellness Center, or for a summertime party.

Game, Set, Match (and Pickleball, Too!)
You’ve likely heard “a body at motion stays in motion,” and our four Har-Tru courts and perfectly sized Pickleball courts are two satisfying options for our members. Our tennis calendar includes weekly mixers, private and group lessons, charity tournaments, and exciting pro exhibitions. Our members are passionate about pickleball, and we couldn’t be more pleased about its third year in the recreation mix here.
