A Summer Day at Our Private Country Club in Banner Elk, NC
Picture for a moment the perfect summer morning in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You’re up just before sunrise, finishing your cup of tea before making your way outside to meet a neighbor to walk the community. You pause and take a deep breath just as the sun peeks out from behind the High Country—the sky is illuminated with shades of violet before the softest peachy hues break through, blending effortlessly into pillowy, rose-colored clouds. As you listen to the songbirds and catch up with one another, the morning sky continues to transform, with yellows and reds, blues and grays still on their way. You’re looking forward to the week’s activities—tennis and golf, a refreshing dip in the pool and dinner with your sweetheart. There’s also horseback riding and camp for the grandkids, still more time outdoors and a quick trip into town to pick up a few birthday presents. You remind yourself to take a mental picture of these blissful summer moments. Keep reading for a sampling of summer activities at Elk River Club.
Time for Tennis
You’ve played tennis on a variety of court surfaces—grass, hard courts, and clay courts. By far, you prefer clay. You appreciate the cooler surface, the slower ball speeds clay provides, and the improvements you see in your balance and footwork. Elk River Club members have access to our Har-Tru tennis courts, perfect for players of all levels. The summer calendar is buzzing with opportunities to play, from mixers to kids’ clinics, as well as private and group lessons.
Life on the Course
The world-class golf was one of the initial reasons you established a residence here—you savor views of the shimmering Elk River and the breathtaking surroundings on our Signature Jack Nicklaus Course.
Clubhouse Days
Your summer fitness approach is a combination of outdoor activities and fitness classes with friends. The weather is ideal for getting your laps in at the pool while your husband takes the grandkids over to the bubblers and beach area. You recently added yoga classes into the mix to release tight muscles and quiet your mind.
A Stop by the Stables
Your afternoon wouldn’t be complete without visiting the Equestrian Center to check in with your horse. The staff gives him excellent care; you’re here to explore the riding preserve and nature trails with your beloved companion. You bring your granddaughter with you to the stables as often as you can—she’s always dreaming about her next ride!
Mountain Village Convenience
The sweet mountain town of Banner Elk has just what you need after a busy summer day—you’ve made reservations at your favorite local restaurant and can’t wait to sample their newest selections.
