Summer beckons at Elk River Club, and our members have much to look forward to in our 2026 season! The amenities you know and love are ready for your arrival, from the refreshing waters of our pool complex to peaceful riding trails, pickleball and tennis play, catch and release fly-fishing, Club dining, and of course, our newly-renovated, world-class Signature Course—there isn’t a better backdrop for a fresh batch of sunlit memories than our cozy mountain community. In today’s post, we’re spotlighting a handful of ways to soak in more mountain goodness as an Elk River Club member.
A Rewarding Round on Our Renovated Course
The sun is shining on the Western North Carolina mountains, and our newly renovated Signature Course holds true to Jack Nicklaus’ original vision: “a truly dynamic golf course with varying golf strategies that are enjoyable for members yet challenging enough for world-class tournament play.”
The devastation of Hurricane Helene necessitated a restoration, and thanks to the vision of Chad Goetz, ASGCA, Senior Design Associate with Nicklaus Design, and the support of our membership, the project encompassed a whole course renovation and major improvements. The transformation included relocating tees and moving greens, adding a set of forward tees throughout the course, and reseeding fairways, tees, and greens. Members will also notice clearer mountain views, longer play in some areas, and modern bunkers.
Trot Your Way to New Summer Memories
A seamless day with your trusted companion is yours for the taking, thanks to our skillfully designed Equestrian Center with its 30 spacious stalls, 40 acres of fenced pasture and paddock, and 140 acres of riding preserve and trails. Well-equipped tack rooms, wash racks, and a member’s lounge add another layer of convenience as you ride out or train together. No matter your pace or goals for the day, the Equestrian Center elevates the member experience.

Your Summer Soundtrack
Thursday nights in Banner Elk mean Summer Concerts in the Park. Held at Tate-Evan’s Town Park Amphitheatre, this year’s series launches on June 25, 2026, with The Bantam Rooster Band, a 9-piece powerhouse playing the perfect mix of Classic Rock, Beach, Funk, Dance, and Top 40. We suggest arriving early for parking before the show begins at 6:30 pm. The series runs through August 13, 2026. There are food trucks and drink vendors serving brick-oven pizza, fresh lemonade, ice cream, southern-style chicken, beer, and more. Visit the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce website for this year’s lineup. Pro tip: lay out chairs or a blanket the morning of the concert.
We can hardly wait for summer 2026 and know it will be full of gladness over our newly renovated course and all of your favorite family traditions.
