Community Involvement

Giving Back to Our Community

Logo.jpgBeing a beneficial part of our community is at the heart of what makes Elk River unique. It's also part of our being good neighbors to those in need. Members of Elk River Club have created The High Country Charitable Foundation to give back in tangible ways to those in the surrounding Avery County. Their moto is: "Making a Difference Down the Roadways of Avery County."

This year the foundation raised in excess of $200,000 and provided funding to 20 local charities, including Childrens Hope Alliance/Grandfather Home for Children, The Avery County Special Olympics, Avery County Humane Society, Avery High Key Club and Volunteer Avery County. Read more about the work of the High Country Charitable Foundation from North Carolina's High Country Magazine.
